Jyotishka is a private Vedic astrology app for iOS and Android. It computes birth charts using traditional Jyotisha methods (Whole Sign houses, Lahiri ayanamsha) and lets you ask an on-device AI questions about any chart in your family.
Yes — downloading and using the core features is free. A Premium subscription unlocks PDF chart export and upcoming features like transit analysis and compatibility reports. Premium is available monthly or annually.
Yes. Birth chart calculations run entirely on your device using Swiss Ephemeris. The on-device AI model never sends your data to any server. We do not sell or share personal data with third parties. See our Privacy Policy for details.
Jyotishka is for anyone interested in Vedic astrology — whether you are Indian, part of the South Asian diaspora, or simply curious about Jyotisha. It supports charts for your whole family: yourself, your spouse, children and parents.
Lahiri (Chitrapaksha) by default — the standard used in India and by most traditional Jyotishis. Raman and KP (Krishnamurti) are also available in settings.
Whole Sign houses — the traditional Vedic system where each house corresponds to exactly one rasi. The lagna (ascendant) is the first house.
You can enter an approximate time or leave it blank (the app defaults to noon). The Moon sign, nakshatra and dasha timeline will still be accurate. The lagna (ascendant) will be marked "approximate" because it changes every two hours. Use the Birth Time Verification tool to narrow it down using known life events.
Yes. Jyotishka includes city data for India, UK, USA, Canada, Australia, UAE, Singapore, Malaysia and South Africa. For any other location worldwide, a global search fallback finds the correct coordinates and timezone automatically.
Very accurate. The Vimshottari dasha start date is computed from the exact Moon longitude at birth. With an exact birth time, the antardasha (sub-period) dates are accurate to within a day or two.
No. The language model runs entirely on your device. No chart data, questions or answers leave your phone. An internet fallback (Groq) is used only if you haven't downloaded the on-device model yet — this is noted in the app.
Approximately 1.3 GB. We recommend downloading on Wi-Fi. Once downloaded it works fully offline.
Open the app, go to Settings → Upgrade to Premium, and choose a monthly or annual plan. Payment is processed through the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android).
Cancellations are handled through the App Store or Google Play — not through Jyotishka directly. On iOS: Settings → your Apple ID → Subscriptions. On Android: Play Store → Subscriptions. You can also reach this from Settings → Manage subscription in the app.
We're considering a 7-day free trial for new Premium subscribers. Check the subscription screen in the app for the current offer.
Go to Settings → Delete account. Type DELETE to confirm. All your data — account, profiles and charts — will be permanently removed within 30 days in accordance with our Privacy Policy and India's DPDP Act 2023.
